Basketball in Saudi Arabia continues to grow in popularity at a rapid rate. Since 1975 there has been a large and sustained programme of investment by General Presidency of Youth Welfare in facilities and coaching throughout the Kingdom. The Government took this role in supporting the sport to promote health and exercise focussing particularly on young people.
An integrated developmental programme throughout schools and collages encourages sport at a grass roots level. Over the last 30 years basketball has grown in popularity and in participation - second only to football. One advantage of basketball is that as an indoor sport it is more suitable to year round participation due to the climate. The standard of play in the Saudi Basketball league has got better and better with teams achieving success at home and abroad.




All Kassab Sports Marketing events are under the backing of the Saudi Arabian Basketball Federation which is the official governing body of basketball in the Kingdom. It operates under General Presidency of Youth Welfare and is chaired by HRH Prince Talal Bin Badr Saud Bin Abdulaziz.
