The RTA has signed an agreement with the International Association of Public Transport (UIPT) whereby a Transport Centre of Excellence for the MENA region will be based in Dubai at the RTA premises, and a public transport conference and exhibition will be held biannually in Dubai for 10 years.
From its inception, the RTA has been pursuing a sound practical approach built on a vision driven by excellence and pioneering values in delivering services to a broad spectrum of community members at world-class standards. It has also committed itself to a mission, values, and strategic goals in dealing with community members, particularly public transport users and beneficiaries of RTA services at the local and federal levels.
Eisa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari, CEO of the Public Transport Agency at the RTA, reiterated the agency’s continuous endeavours to open up joint communication channels with the tourist companies based in the UAE through engaging in joint ventures and reciprocal activities in the marine transport sector within the emirate of Dubai in order to boost the tourist drive and to keep pace with the developments made in this regard.
Pursuant to the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to rename Al Dhiyafa Street in Bur Dubai as 2nd of December Street, marking the UAE celebrations of the 40th National Day, the RTA embarked on implementing the order once issued.
The Public Transport Agency at the RTA recently completed the installation of 89 video monitors on the Red and Green Line stations of the Dubai Metro to display real-time passenger information-a move that echoes the implementation of the latest technology in this line of industry with the aim of enabling the Metro riders to check bus movements, particularly the Metro feeder service.
